I personally questioned where I should work, live, and play. I was asked to re-locate by family, friends, and customers across the country. I looked at urban, suburban, ex-urban, rural, and remote areas. I questioned connectivity, neighborhoods, crime, views, walkability, proximity, and many factors. I really thought I had hit a grand slam moving to the mountains in California when COVID hit. I have since questioned shy there can be this much Covid in my mountainous zip code. How can such a spread out community breed so much transmission? I can see from the article below that I was not imagining the issues.
I did not take into the account the political implications that can cause health problems. I am living in a conservative area in a relatively liberal state. Should I get the best of both worlds? Should this be a dream for a centrist?
I believe the reason for increased concern is that rural areas have less risk with being around others. Many of the procedures for abating germs in a dense urban area are the same for COVID. My perceived advantage, turned into a disadvantage.
I have a longer article about the pros and cons of my move. What was brilliant, adequate, and a total failure are still being processed. Overall, it has been the best move of my life. But it isn’t perfect.
What have you found from your moves across a neighborhood, city, county, state, country, or world?
